Flora Batava

Vaccum sealed flowers and a broken vending machine;
to be unpractical in a practically disguised system

Art work produced for an exhibition, alluding to the new publication,
‘Flora Batava’ - an archive of the diverse botanical species, native to the Dutch land.

This vending machine deliberately calls for people to embrace the non-functional.
The simple captivation to the beauty of nature, poetic layers hidden in systems,
and the strangeness in finding non-familiarness in familiar subjects presents us
with living in the midst of surviving, parallel to impracticalities within practicality.
